Define the role before the shortlist
Decide whether you need a photographer to create a library, a host to appear on camera, a filmmaker to tell a destination story or a creator to publish to their audience. One person may cover several roles, but each role needs its own deliverables and expectations. Include the guest audience and the property experience the campaign needs to communicate.
Separate the stay from the assignment
List the proposed dates, rooms, travel arrangements and access to facilities. Then list the commissioned assets or appearances and any posts expected on a talent-owned channel. Accommodation, expenses, creative fees and usage should be discussed as distinct parts of the brief rather than hidden inside a promise of exposure.
Plan around the property
Specify which spaces can be filmed, the useful light or service windows and who coordinates access. A working restaurant or occupied hotel needs a practical shoot plan. Agree how guests, staff and other contributors will be handled with the property and production team before the shoot.
Agree where the work will appear
A hotel website, paid social campaign, booking listing and creator post are different uses. Set out the proposed channels, territories, duration and adaptations. Where a creator endorsement reaches US consumers, consult the FTC’s disclosure guidance; a complimentary stay can be a material connection.
Choose a measure that fits the role
Assess a commissioned photo library against the agreed asset list and usage. Assess a creator campaign using the agreed audience, response and booking measures, with clear attribution limits. Ask for the reporting inputs before the assignment begins. A delivered image and a confirmed reservation should remain separate events.
